Hot of the press: This morning the .NET Framework RTM’ed. I’ve found all kinds of reasons why I need to start using ASP.NET, and scrap my old ASP 3.0 books (most bought in the last year). So if you code in ASP (if youre a PHP fan, then in the voice of the soup Nazi “no .net for you”), you should be asking yourself for reasons why NOT to move to ASP.NET. Here are the essential links.

MDAC 2.7 (Needed if your not installing the above on Windows XP)
FYI: MDAC 2.5 was installed with Windows 2000, 2.6 is Minimum required for .NET to work, and 2.7 is the most current.

THX evoloution: Theator -> Home -> PC -> CAR!!!
Over at WinAmp.com they reported that Lucasfilm announced the first THX certified car, a 2003 Lincoln LS. I don’t care if it’s your grandma’s car… it just sounds cool to say “yea.. my ride is THX certified”.
For the uninitiated, THX has been around for about 6 years, and its actually a quality control rule-book for audio and video components rather than an actual format like the alphabet soup of: Dolby Surround (Standard, Dolby Pro-Logic I and II), Dolby Headphone, Dolby Digital (Standard and EX), DTS Digital Surround (Standard, ES, and Neo:6), SDDS (Sony Dynamic Digital Sound)… whew.
Odd, it seems a slight upgrade to 4.5 came out a month ago, but we never got ‘notified’. Get it here
And if I haven’t plugged it in a IM conversation with you before.. get Messenger Plus, a ‘killer app’
