Re-testing tackbacks

Shok has got his to work, so lets see how I do.

New theme and style

Realizing that the old look had some functional limitations, I will be moving to the K2 theme system. Help me ensure trackbacks, commenting, etc. are working if you’d like.

How to Post Pictures to this Site

Want to add your VB party pics? Have special memories of Duck-In and want to share them here? Just send the images to sonicbum @ gmail.com and we’ll post them promptly.

vbbeachparty.com is born

Upon learning a year ago that Duck-In would indeed be flattened to make way for condos, my wife and I went into denial. When summer of 2005 hit, we realized that Duck-In didn’t have a replacement for its beach parties. Then The Virginian Pilot did a bit about Duck-In closing, and went so far as to suggest alternatives. We decided to create this site to live on past the Duck-In web page and the Pilot articles. To serve both as a memory of how wonderful Duck-In was, and as a place to help cultivate a new ‘large scale’ venue for something unique to Virginia Beach in the Hampton Roads area…. The Beach Party.

Jennings Family Has a Lot to Be Proud Of

Hearing that Peter had died Sunday night was like hearing that a close and personal friend had passed. There were so many times in my life, and more so in the life of my Wife, that Peter was our connection to everything outside our little ‘world’. Four years ago we watched him choke up on air during 9/11 as we sat in disbelief, and then what seemed like a short time later, were again sat in disbelief as we watched him come on the air for what was to be his last broadcast telling us about his cancer. Not that one wants to compare the two events, but Peter really meant that much to many of us ‘average Americans’. Every day after that we turned on our Tivo-recorded news in hopes of seeing him back in his chair. After several months went buy, we started to take in the bitter reality that our ONLY nightly news source may never come back. Last nights news came as another harsh reminder to take nothing for granted.

To Mr. Jennings family, we send our love. We’ll miss you Peter.
