new Microsoft Security Tools

Everyone’s talking about them, but there have been so many lately, I thought I’d post. Again, more info is available from our good friends at win2000mag.net and ntsecurity.net

HFNetChk: Command line tool that can check NT Systems across the network for service pack/patch valadation. A must for any Admin or Engineer.

Microsoft Personal Security Advisor: scans (like windows update) your pc and recomends patches and security hardening options. NOTE: Note that MPSA does NOT scan for server-related fixes, such as fixes affecting IIS or even Personal Web Server. If you have web services installed on your system, do not use MPSA, use HFNetChk instead.

IIS Lockdown tool: Run on any IIS 4/5 system to harden IIS options and permissions.
